Jairo Jaramillo Cárdenas graduated from Universidad de La Salle-ULS in Bogotá, Colombia, where he also did a residency in large animal clinic and surgery. He is also a master and doctor in equine surgery by FCAV/UNESP Jaboticabal and by FMVZ/UNESP Botucatu, both in Brazil. Certified by ISELP (International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology) and by ALAPILE (Latin American Association of Pathology and Imagenology of the Locomotor System of the Equine), homonymous association of ISELP of which he was founder. He also did an internship in ``Equine Field Service`` at UC Davis in the USA. Today he is the owner of EQUARTER, a continuing education company, and the equine orthopedics centre EQX in Brazil. He created the advanced training programme in locomotor pathologies called Xeque-Mate with enormous success in Brazil and Latin America. He is regularly called for personalised training in several countries in the Middle East and Asia.
